As the form of representation closest to the community, Community Councils help to strengthen the voice and promote the views of those who live within their communities.
They support their communities and those who live within them in expressing their own views, and advocate as strongly as possible on behalf of the community it represents when engaging with public services, branches of government and external agencies and organisations.
This means that Community Councils are required to be informed and consulted upon any planning (and licensing) applications which are submitted for locations within their community.
Although many applications relate to repair and maintenance of individual premises and homes, there can also be larger scale applications where the Community Council seeks to consult with its community and to learn more from the Local Authority and Developing Agents.
Castlehill and Pittodrie Community Council always endeavours to ensure that those who live in the community them remain as informed as possible on all developments in their neighbourhood and throughout the city as a whole.
